I have a few posts on my blag which, for whatever reason, constantly get dinged with spam comments which are fortunately caught by Akismet. However, due to how PopContest hooks into WP, they are still triggering a "comment" in the PopContest database, meaning that these posts are disproportionately ranked popular even though they are, in fact, not.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to correct this? I've been reviewing the source but was hoping to see if others had any ideas.
