Header image really doesn't work.... : Crowd Favorite Forums

Hello,

I routinely answered several people asking for the header image size the value of texture-x.png (960x200) and now it's my turn...

I tried any trick possible and it's IMPOSSIBLE to use a header logo.. the settings interface screws up the whole header design

Any one did figure a hack to use an image instead of the text header ?

(by the way I invested a lot of time in this theme and I love the "context" principle.. and would hate to be forced to change theme only for a stupid logo problem)

OK guys.. after getting close to a nervous break down.. here is a solution :

1) open /header/header-default.php (better to use a child theme in case of an upgrade)

2) Find the lines

<div class="wrapper">
<strong id="blog-title">/" rel="home"><?php bloginfo('name') ?>

And replace

<strong id="blog-title">/" rel="home"><?php bloginfo('name') ?>

By

<strong id="blog-title">/" rel="home"><img src="http://road to your image logo.png" width="x" height="y" alt="logo" />

3) I used an image file 742x100px, height of 100px suits well

4) open /img/header and blank the 4 png files (texture dark/light and gradient dark/light)

5) open carrington settings in WP admin and tweek the colors (this part works..)

The result is pretty correct (see http://velofun.fr)

It didn't look the same for me, but I changed this and it worked. Why all this figuring out. Why doesn't crowd favorite document these things many folks will need?

yes i think it might be right, because the header will will not show in UI and i think they have to be change soon.
