Remove the "about text" box in Carrington : Crowd Favorite Forums

I am trying to remove the "About Bicycle Design" box in the sidebar of my blog at http://bicycledesign.net. The site runs on Carrington blog 2.2, and the code for the about text seems to be located in the sidebar-default.php template:

I have tried to remove or modify that section of code, but the rest of the sidebar content disappears with it. How can I modify it so that the about box disappears, but the rest of the sidebar content remains intact?

In sidebar/sidebar-default.php

Simply replace

$about_text = cfct_about_text();

by

$about_text = "";
