iCalendars and RSS Feeds

Tasks Pro™ creates iCalendars and RSS Feeds of your tasks to allow you to integrate your Tasks Pro™ data with other tools you may already use.

iCalendars

If you'd like to see a calendar view of your upcoming tasks or upcoming tasks for a specific task tree, you'll want to use an iCalendar. You can either view the iCalendar with the included PHP iCalendar software, or you can subscribe to the iCalendar in your desktop iCalendar software.

If you use desktop iCalendar software, you can create different iCalendars for work, home, etc. and choose to view them independently or combined together. By subscribing to your Tasks Pro™ iCalendar, you can view your scheduled tasks alongside the rest of your calendars.

The links to the Tasks Pro™ iCalendars look like this:

Right click on the link to copy the URL, then 'Subscribe' to it in your iCalendar software.

The most popular iCalendar desktop programs are Apple's iCal for the Mac and Mozilla Calendar for all other platforms. There is a list of iCalendar desktop software later in this documentation.

Note: Links to iCalendars are only shown when you have chosen to enable them in your preferences.

RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds are an easy way to find out when something has been updated. You can use the RSS Feeds with your favorite desktop Feed Reader software like NetNewsWire (Mac), FeedDemon (Windows) or Mozilla Thunderbird (cross-platform). You can also use them with a web based feed reader like Bloglines or even My Yahoo! There is a list of RSS reading desktop software later in this documentation.

There are RSS Feeds for users, groups, task trees and your upcoming tasks. RSS feeds are great to monitor what is going on with a specific project or group.
