Tasks uses icons as both indicators of data values for certain Properties and as clickable items per perform actions and toggle elements in the user interface.
- Open Tree
Click this to show the sub-tasks under this task in the Tree View.- Close Tree
Click this to hide the sub-tasks/notes under this task/note in the Tree View.- Open Forms
Click this to open the forms of the sub-tasks/notes under this task/note in the Tree View.- Close Forms
Click this to close the forms of the sub-tasks/notes under this task/note in the Tree View.- Priority Indicator
These icons represent the priority of this task.

- Sticky Task Indicator
Shows if a task has been flagged as a sticky task.- Timer Running Indicator
Appears if a timer is currently running for a task (in the Tree View.- Billlable Task Indicator
Appears if a task has been marked billable.- Edit Task
Click on this to edit this task.- Edit Note
Click on this to edit this note.- New Sub-Task
Click on this to add a new sub-task under this task/note.- New Sub-Note
Click on this to add a new sub-note under this task/note.- New Task(s) From Template
Click on this to add a new sub-task under this task/note from a task template.- Mark Complete
Click on this to mark a task complete. After clicking on this icon, a dialog is shown allowing you to add a comment to the task you have completed.- Delete Task
Click on this to delete a task.- Delete Note
Click on this to delete a note.- Hide Details
Click on this to hide the details of this task in the tree view.- Show Details
Click on this to show the details of this task in the tree view.- Show Details (with Notes/URLs)
This icon indicates that there is information in the Notes field or URLs attached to this task/note that will be visible when you open this task/note.- Make Notes Field Smaller
The Make Notes Field Smaller icon.This is shown next to the Notes Field on the Edit Screen and the Tree View.
- Make Notes Field Bigger
The Make Notes Field Bigger icon.This is shown next to the Notes Field on the Edit Screen and the Tree View.
- Open Chooser
Click this to open a window where you can select a value. The value will be inserted into the field next to this icon.- Favorite

Indicates this task is marked as a favorite.- Edit Tag
Click this icon to globally edit the name of a tag on the Tags Screen or (if you have tag hiding enabled in your Preferences) to edit tags for a task or note.- Delete Tag
Click this icon to globally delete a tag from the Tags Screen.- Edit Template
Click this icon to edit this template.- Duplicate Template
Click this to create a copy of this template and edit the new template.- Delete Template
Click this icon to delete this template.- Edit Mailbox
Click this icon to edit this mailbox.- Duplicate Mailbox
Click this to create a copy of this mailbox and edit the new mailbox.- Delete Mailbox
Click this icon to delete this mailbox.- View iCalendar in PHP iCalendar
If enabled in the Server Settings, click this icon to view the scheduled tasks for this task in PHP iCalendar.The iCalendar will open in a new window (similar to pressing the Calendar Button), but with the selected user's or group's tasks instead of your own.

The link on this icon is the URL to use to subscribe to the iCalendar for this tasks. Copy the URL and put it in your iCalendar software.- RSS URL
The link on this icon is the URL to use to subscribe to the RSS Feed for the scheduled tasks for this task. Copy the URL and put it in your feed reader.- Required Field Indicator
Shows that this field must be filled in before you can save.This is used on the Preferences screen.
- Required Field Not Filled In
Shows that this field was not filled in and must be before you can save. You will have also seen an error message before seeing this icon.This is used on the Preferences screen.
