When we contacted Crowd Favorite about redeveloping our site using Wordpress, we had a broad idea of the type of design we wanted, some sketchy content and a basic structure. They took our ideas and developed a custom theme with some extra features to get the layout style we were looking for. This developed over several iterations, eventually converging on a design that we were very happy with. But it wasn’t just a static ‘one shot’ design; the code, HTML, and CSS were all cleanly created and well documented which allowed us to tweak the design and code ourselves as we worked through further development of content and structure.
It was great to tap into CF’s knowledge and experience with Wordpress. They allowed us to focus on what was important to us - the content and structure of the site - without having to worry how we’d make it work with Wordpress.

I used Alex King’s Twitter Tools to integrate my Twitter remarks, called “tweets”, into the sidebar as well. Alex is a star of Web 2.0, in my opinion, and his code is incredibly high quality. It’s always a pleasure to be able to use more of it!

After a year and a half of meandering efforts that went nowhere, and two different web design firms, I was beginning to lose hope that we’d ever revamp our aging front end at RedMonk.com.
Enter Crowd Favorite, in the form of Alex King. In a few short weeks, he’d migrated us from Movable Type to WordPress (keeping our existing links functional), designed a meta-template for our blogs that can be easily reskinned on an individual basis, and introduced the brilliant header concept which links our disparate sites for better cross-promotion. And that was just the beginning.
Throughout the work on our blogs or the eventual reconstruction of our main website, Alex displayed just the right touch needed to shepherd us along. Those of you that have used design firms in the past are probably aware that they’re often at one extreme or the other: either unresponsive to feedback, or overly responsive. Finding someone that can walk that fine line is a rare gift, but Alex has it in spades.
Based on his substantial contributions to the WordPress community and solid history of building standalone web applications, his technical chops were no surprise. What I hadn’t realized was that they were coupled with the much less common ability to work effectively with even the most difficult of customers. Customers like us, who didn’t really know what we wanted, let alone how to get there.
If you happen to find yourself in the market for design and development services, then, just trust me when I tell you that you’re not going to do much better. I’d also tell you to just trust that he knows what he’s doing, but I think you’ll find that out on your own pretty quickly.

Alex has helped me with two major projects for Wetpixel in the last couple of years. The first was a full migration of the Wetpixel content from a PHPNuke and phpBB system to Expression Engine (EE) and Invision Power Board (IPB), and create a single sign on for my visitors. Not only was the content completely converted with a custom script that could be re-run as needed, but Alex devised a system to redirect all of the old PHPNuke URLs to the new Expression Engine URLs. Alex also created a simple single sign on mechanism that was minimally invasive in both EE and IPB, making future upgrades much simpler. The second project was the creation of a photo contest system. Users can submit photos to the competition and vote and leave comments on the entries.
I’ve done my fair share of web development, but Alex was able to get this stuff done faster and in a cleaner, more maintainable fashion than I would have. Alex was accessible, responsive and reliable throughout the development process for both projects, and I’m going to be working with him again soon.

I enlisted Alex’s help to integrate a blog into a political web site for a New York City Councilman. After a few discussions to determine what we wanted, he integrated the blog seemlessly into the new site design and also provided guidance in setting up the blog so it would be most effective for us. Just wanted to give the developer(s) of this software a pat on the back. I bought a 5 user license of Tasks Pro a month or so ago and wasn’t sure if it was going to be useful. I’m an IT manager and have a never-ending list of outstanding tasks and trouble-tickets to address. I use Tasks Pro every day to track my outstanding tasks and update them with timestamped notes. It’s been very useful…

What an absolutely wonderful product! I have been bouncing back and forth for years between many products including many versions of Outlook with and without plug-ins, and a plethora of web-based groupware and project managment software. I was continually astonished at the details and key features that the competing products were so obviously missing.
As a IT Director for a hospital and a IT consulting entrepreneur, I keep a very healthy list of tasks and notes for day-to-day use. Between the ‘other guys’ software and the in-house groupware, my organizing situation went from worse to mangled and horrible.
The Tasks Pro™ software has been designed with professionals, like me, in mind. It simply works. The author has carefully considered each feature and how it relates to the entire project and the goal of the software. Folks, this is how software is supposed to be, but we have come to expect less from those big [Insert Large Software Corporation Here] names haven’t we.
The iCal integration is genius. The blog (RSS) feeds and the wireless PDA functionality are super sexy features that ACTUALLY work very well.
I have set up blog (RSS) feeds for project members that don’t need access to the system but need a detailed list of real-time projects stats.
I even imported my tasks for my up-and-coming wedding and house construction and added my Fiancee as a member so that she can see the progression of tasks and collabrate on the wedding to-do’s and both our familys can access the blog feed that we both author, to see up-to-date status of planning for the big event.
This is an indispensable tool. Thanks a billion-and-a-half!

When faced with managing a project that involved four teams in three different countries I was very worried about how to keep things running smoothly. Originally I managed all action items by e-mail. It did not take long to determine that this was inefficient and prone to problems. As the weeks went by and the ‘Action Item’ e-mail grew longer and more unmanageable, I knew that it was time to look for an alternate solution.

Tasks Pro™ is ideal for individuals and companies going places! I used every P.M. software solution that I could get my hands on, from Microsoft Project to simple access programs. A P.M. solution should help you get work done, not add to it and that’s what Tasks Pro™ does. It’s simple and to the point; first time users "get it" right away. Global access is a must. I can’t remember the last time I had a project where all members of the team were in one country. I just wanted to post a quick note to say that I have tried many, many project management system and this is by far the most usable, manageable system at an extremely affordable price. You can’t believe what other people are charging on a per user basis.
And you have more features than anything else out there. Part of the problem with some systems is that it takes a rocket scientist to set the system up and it’s almost impossible to get your clients/users to implement it because the learning curve is too high.
I look forward to the updates in the future to an already outstanding product.

Tasks Pro™ is by far the best available application in the market for task management. I have been looking for an application like Tasks Pro™ for years.
None of the previous business applications we have work with has ever fullfilled our needs and expectations. We are using the Spanish version, and works great.

I have been looking for a good task and time management package for months. Nothing was quite right, many simple packages were available, but were unsuitable. The nearest available, suiting my needs was so complex that I gave up using it before the end of the trial. Then I came across Tasks Pro™ - as near perfect as makes no difference. Even better, colleagues on specific projects can access, as can my secretary - and everyone gets emails automatically as a gentle reminder. I now plan my projects in "Merlin (Project Wizards)", transfer the plan to Tasks Pro™ and iCal. I have no doubt that I can now increase my billable time by being far better organised and my colleagues get the reminders they need ! I run an online gaming fansite, and I have just recently incorporated your Tasks software as the new manager of our giant ‘to do’ lists. With online gaming, there are constant updates, and thus there must be constant coverage and content provided to the fans, and I have to say, the program is a godsend.
