What is FavCreate?
It is our first ever FavCreate! This idea was inspired by many other agencies that have in-house "hack-a-thons". FavCreate is Crowd Favorite's take on an internal, idea-generation, "hack-a-thon". Taking a break from the daily grind, our team gathered *virtually* to focus on our own innovative digital ideas. The end result of FavCreate is not only a recharged team of Favoriteers, but also a handful of impressive digital solutions to be shared with our company and clients.
We were hoping to be able to spend our 2021 FavCreate days in person, but unfortunately Covid-19 put the kibosh to that idea. We improvised quickly and set up a virtual working session with a Discord server and Google Meet rooms. Each team branched off into separate rooms as needed.

FavCreate May 2021 Projects
Our May 2021 FavCreate teams worked on five projects starting with proof of concept, working through a prototype/demo, and ending with presentations during our monthly company meeting.

WordPress IoT Home Automation
We used the WP REST API to control custom-built Arduino digital devices to automate home appliances.
Blazing Fast Money Making Online Shop
We built a WooCommerce shop using Gatsby to improve the speed, user experience and conversion rates.
GPT-3 Blocks
This is a Plugin that generates Gutenberg blocks based on natural language input using the GPT-e autoregressive language model trained to product programming code.
Automaton
We created a system of automated daily developer tasks that are repetitive or manual.
Your Personal Secretary (Aida)
We built an in-house transcript tool to allow a better conversion to notes that can be searched and ordered for better use and communication.
FavCreate October 2021 Projects

Hydroponic System
We used Arduino devices to gather information from sensors and control various aspects of a hydroponics system including, temperature, light and water flow.
Personalized Session Shopper (PaSS)
A WordPress plugin for WooCommerce that uses a survey to gather shopper insights in order to offer a personalized customer experience.
FastPass
A mobile, future-proof password authentication tool using physical tokens for increased security that is platform independent and GDPR compliant.
Ultimate CrowdFavorite.com
Implement a headless system to generate a static, more performant version of our website that will improve speed and simplify content creation.
Page Speed History
Created a basic bash script that allows a developer to easily check if the site speed is changing using Google PageSpeed Insights API.
